One more post for this evening, we had another group of students receive positive referrals from our staff to cap the week off. Congratulations to Adalyn Puthoff, Landyn Graves (who is our first multiple recipient of the year), and Annie Davidson. Two of them cleaned up the science lab without being asked to (including other students areas) and one of them displayed the kind of role model characteristics we like to see from our Bears! It's 🏈 time Bears fans! Our annual "Meet the Bears" night will be Friday, August 30th! This is a big night for us to recognize our student-athletes K-12 and to support our booster club organization. Admission will be Gatorade, Water, Protein Bars, or Liquid IV. Gates will open at 6:00 and we will have water slides and bouncy houses for the kids to enjoy as we officially say farewell to summer and kickoff football season!!! Our student/athletes have worked hard the past two weeks to make a video encouraging everyone to join our Booster Club this season. This organization means a lot and does even more for our school district and our student/athletes! We would like to recognize three of our Graduates from the class of 2024. Kelsey McKamie, Erin Claire West, and Chloe Hargis all scored high enough on their AP Literature and Composition exam to qualify for counting as college credit! Outstanding job ladies! #onceabearalwaysabear

Tough, gritty, relentless, tenacious, smart...and they're even better in the classroom!! Congratulations to 2023-2024 Varsity Cheer Squad for winning their 2nd Consecutive AAA Academic State Championship! The finished as a squad with a 3.932 GPA on a 4 point scale! Due to the multiple schedule changes that are being made this year we want to make sure that we get information out to you. Woodlawn School District will not be doing the early release on Wednesday during the 2024-25 school year. This was approved by the School Board in the May 2024 meeting. Teachers will collaborate after school multiple days a week this year. Both WHS and WES will be starting at 7:55 and releasing daily at 3:15 for the 2024-25 school year. The morning tardy bell will be at 8:00 for both buildings. Thank you as always for your support!

Just a reminder for all our Seniors coming in to register tomorrow. You will need to have all of your registration paperwork complete before you can draw for your parking spot. Registration is quick and easy online and all of our other forms can be found on the district home page www.whsbears.org We will also have people available to assist you with any registration questions you may have tomorrow.
