Another big weekend for the Bears!

The Junior Bears kicked off the weekend defeating the Junior Mustangs of Midland 34-0.

In between the ballgames, the football teams and cheer squads helped to present the Dickey family with a memorial banner in honor of Josh Dickey. Josh, a 2007 graduate of Woodlawn, had been regular member of the chain gang for the past seven years and a volunteer for many of the community youth sports programs.

The Senior Bears kicked off to the Mustangs to start the varsity game and led early 8-0. The second quarter was not so good for the Bears as Midland was able to put together four unanswered touchdown drives. The Mustangs led the Bears at halftime 26-8.

Coming out of the half the Bears were spurred on immediately by an Ethan Saeler kick-off return for a touchdown. After recovering the onside kick, the Bears scored again. The game was called with 2:31 seconds remaining and the Bears took the victory 42-32!

Cross Country was also back in action this weekend at the North Little Rock Minuteman Relay.

Abigail Stone finished 27th out of the field of 112 runners in the Junior Girls race.

Brayden Jones finished 34th out of the field of 164 runners in the Senior Boys race.

Cross Country will travel to Hot Springs Tuesday and the football teams will be traveling to Hendrix college to take on Southside Bee Branch on Thursday. The Junior High game is scheduled to start at 5:30 and the Senior High game will immediately follow.
