The Woodlawn Bears Football Team advanced to the Semi-Finals of the 8-Man Playoffs this past weekend with a 50-20 victory over the Midland Mustangs.
The win keeps the Bears undefeated and in the running for their 1st sanctioned state title in football in program history. The Bears will be hosting Rector this Friday night at Woodlawn. Rector defeated Brinkley last week 28-20.
The Bears also picked up a season opening win on the hardwood, beating Nemo Vista 72-42 at the Carl Jones Sports Complex. The Bears came out firing on all cylinders and raced to the big season opening win.
Last week we also celebrated four of our student athletes signing athletic intent letters to continue their athletic and academic careers after high school. Congratulations to Jude Roberts (Basketball-University of Arkansas-Monticello), Tyner Burris (Baseball-Arkansas State Three Rivers), Karsyn Chastain (Softball-Henderson State), and Kendall Tooke (Softball-National Park College)!
