career exploration

Today our 6th grade students at Woodlawn Elementary had a fun and meaningful day of career exploration as part of Dr. Seuss Week!

Students came to school dressed as what they want to be when they grow up, and they used the day to dive deeper into learning about those careers. Students researched the careers they are interested in, prepared and delivered oral presentations about their chosen profession, and even participated in mock interviews with their peers to practice important communication and interview skills.

Students also completed an online career interest profiler to help them discover how their interests and strengths connect to different career pathways. With the help of several high school CTE students, our 6th graders learned more about themselves and explored the many career opportunities available to them.

Experiences like these help students begin thinking about their future and how their education can align with their career goals. We are proud of the hard work, creativity, and enthusiasm our students showed today!
