Woodlawn FBLA had a great day at the Fall Leadership Conference in Stuttgart! 🌟 District President Eli Smith and Parliamentarian Brit Swan helped lead the event and proudly represented our school. The Union Pacific railroad visited Woodlawn High School this week, Mr. John Varnell came to talk about general railroad and train safety along driver safety near railroads as part of the U.P. Cares program. Also, Mr. Derwin Davis, Sr. Recruiter (HR) spoke with students about the many career and educational opportunities available within the railroad and transportation career cluster. Elementary will start from 2:30-3:30 for K-3rd grade and 4:00-5:00 for 4th-6th grade.
Jr. High (7th-9th) will attend from 5:30-6:30 and Sr. High (10th-12th) will end the night from 7:00-8:00.
Tickets are $5 each and concession items will be available for purchase at the dance.

Last week, Woodlawn Elementary School received recognition from the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas for having demonstrated high growth on the ATLAS exams!

There will be a meeting of the Woodlawn Booster Club this Monday evening at 6:00pm in the Woodlawn cafeteria.
Even though the Woodlawn Booster Club is not a school sponsored program, the operations and proceeds generated by this organization are vital to the many successful programs within our school. In order for the Woodlawn School District to support this organization, it is crucial that this club is transparent and is a reflection of the many good people and parents within our community. It is also important that this organization is one that can have the support and trust of everyone who gives to the many different sporting events through membership and volunteering.
I would like to encourage you to come and help to restructure this organization so our children can continue to benefit from the many things that have been provided by the Woodlawn Booster Club.

Woodlawn School District will be hosting our annual Report to the Public at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14th in the Administration building. The report will be followed by our Master Planning meeting and monthly School Board meeting.

If you are new here, all teachers nominate one student per grade to be our "Pawsitive Student of the Month" for showing outstanding positive behavior all month long. Teachers and staff also have a collection of paw prints to hand out to students to reward them for positive behavior or by showing our positive word of the month. The "Paw"sitive word of the month for September was "Perseverance." Way to go bears!!

Woodlawn students are volunteering at the UAMS Health Fair today at the Pioneer Village in Rison. The Health Fair is today from 10:00-2:00. There are over 40 vendors present. Come check it out and say hi to one of your Woodlawn Bears!
We want to give a special shout out to Kadence Davis! Kadence is a 7th grade student at Woodlawn High School who recently placed 7th overall in the Arkansas State Horse Show Finals at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock. Way to go!
