" As we approach the latter part of this week, weather forecasts predict Inclement Weather which may have an impact upon school closures. Should this be the case, we will notify parents and constituents within the district as soon as possible. Should the Woodlawn School District have a full day closure, we will post these via social media, television, and multiple notification systems no later than 6:00 am of that school day. Additionally, should our schools be released early on Thursday, we will use the same systems to notify parents of an early release. While we are anxious to have our children back in school, we are cognisant of the importance for their safety. We will keep you posted on any further events as we proceed through the week."

Woodlawn students competed against one another in a tight race for the district’s top spellers in the school’s annual spelling bee held in the Woodlawn School Cafeteria on Thursday, November 14th. Twenty-five spellers from grades fourth through eighth participated in the bee to determine Woodlawn's Spelling Bee Champion and to identify contenders for the Cleveland County Spelling Bee. The bee ended in a neck and neck race for first as Jayci Rauls, a fifth-grader from Woodlawn Elementary, was declared champion in the twenty-ninth round and Victor HU, a seventh-grader, was declared runner up. Cade Bostian placed third followed by Shelby Nooner and Emma Brock placing fourth and fifth respectively. All five students will compete in the Cleveland County Spelling Bee, which will be held in the Woodlawn School Cafeteria on Thursday, January 30, 2024 @ 8:45 AM. Special thanks goes out to all individuals that help support and make the event possible and additionally to Fordyce Bank & Trust for providing monetary awards to our top three contestants.
